Artist's logbook
Do we really share?
Being an artist is wanting to share. Showing one’s artworks is exchanging looks, communicating emotions. Ever since I’ve offered my work on cards, eCards, notebooks,
I’ve received messages, questions, sometimes even complaints. I always answer nicely, I enjoy the dialogue, exchanging with you. It motivates me to offer more drawings.

People who write to me are sometimes surprised that I start a proper dialogue. We are no longer used to sending and receiving.
Even though we live in a society where a multitude of occasions for talk exist, we no longer communicate. Sometimes, a text message, an e-mail or an eCard just to bring news is one of those simple, shared and very real pleasures.
Oils that are essential
Legend has it that cypress trees were burnt down in Babylone to abate epidemics. Egyptian, Chinese even Indian civilizations used plants and oils.
Is it because I’m so sensitive to travel, to smells that take me away, that I love essential oils so? I couldn’t say. I love their scent, the idea of playing around with them. I use them relentlessly according to my mood. I own over thirty bottles of essential oils.

I love that the scent of Litsea Cubeda floats in the house. I love smelling laurus nobilis or verbena in the palm of my hands. Both make me forget I’m tired. I add them to my shampoo, slip lavender oil into the washing machine and use peppermint for headaches or tea tree to chase away a winter cold.
And of course, I use them for cooking. Lemongrass, jasmine, mandarin, all rather classic scents. These oils must be the secret for my creative energy!
